Who is the CPA Program for?

The CPA course is suitable for both graduates and working professionals who are committed to advancing their careers in the accounting field and seeking the knowledge and certification that comes with the CPA credential.

What are the requirements for the CPA course?

To appear for the US CPA exam:

1. Candidates need at least 120 credits, or
2. 90 credits with the condition of completing the remaining requirements
For the CPA license:
1. Candidates need 150 credits.
2. At least 2 years of work experience, validated by a licensed CPA.
3. Some states require candidates to pass an additional ethics exam.

As a rule of thumb, every year of university education in India is equivalent to 30 semester credits in the US:
1. B.Com: 3 years × 30 credits = 90 credits
2. M.Com or MBA: 60 credits
3. CA, CS, or ICWA: 60 credits*
*Consider this as equivalent to 2 or 3 years of education, depending on the specific requirements of state boards.

When Can I Take the CPA Exam?

The CPA exams are conducted during the following four testing windows:
1. January – March
2. April – June
3. July – September
4. October – December

Each Paper/Section Exam consists of five parts, known as testlets. The first two testlets contain multiple-choice questions (MCQs), while the remaining three testlets focus on task-based simulations (TBSs).

What is the duration and skill assessment of the CPA Exam?

Each section of the CPA Exam is four hours long. The questions assess four skill levels:
1. Remembering and Understanding
2. Application
3. Analysis
4. Evaluation (AUD section only)

How is the CPA Exam scored?

Each section is scored on a scale of 0 to 99, with a minimum passing score of 75.
1. All sections except ISC: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and task-based simulations (TBSs) each account for 50% of the score.
2. ISC (Integrated Simulations Content): MCQs contribute 60%, while TBSs make up 40%.

Time to complete 4 CPA sections?

You have 18 months, starting from the date you pass your first section, to pass all remaining sections. If a section isn’t passed within this rolling window, it will expire.
Some states are transitioning to a 30-month timeline as recommended by NASBA. Check with your state board for specific timelines.
